Today Ellie wasn't In so me and john captured our final footage and did some final editing, we now only have a short bit left to do so it is not long now till we have a final product complete

Today most of our footage had finally been captured, so we looked through it all, then started to edit more and put our music video together more. However, the end few minuites of our footage we filmed in Brick Lane hasn't been captured, so we need to find it again on the tape and attempt to capture it, yet again.

27/12/2011
Today we went to brick lane to continue shooting in London, however with the train delays (thank you national rail) it took me two hours to get to Liverpool street. When I eventually got to Liverpool street I met both Georgie and Ellie, We then went to brick lane filming footage for our mid twenties scenes, going into Rough trade a well known Music Store and taking footage of us going on the DJ decks and messing around in the photo booth to show were still quite young. We also filmed the street art all around brick lane which it is known for to add into our music video for a more urban effect emphasizing us still being quite young and also going to a local park in brick lane where we messed around on the different park equipments, such as the spinning round about which you will see in our video, of a close up of me and Georgie with the background being slurred as you can see in an example i found on youtube below:

30/11/2011 - Session 22
Today we had the day off because of the strikes going on across the UK, so we decided to use this as a perfect opportunity to film. We had original planned to go to Clacton to shoot our first verse but due to railway strikes we were unable to get to Clacton so we decided to improvise and we went to Southend-On-Sea instead. The First of the two shoots was the morning shoot on the Pier where me and Georgie had to pretend that we was between the ages of 12-14 years old messing around on the pier playing tag and general mucking around like you would at this age (pretending to rein-act titanic at one point) we wanted to get across our ages hence why we are dressed up in school uniform to try and get across this, as you can see in the photo below. we used props such as glasses for me and old school blazers. We also used a Polaroid camera as in our storyboard we throw away a polaroid to the sea which we did on the pier. We also got clips of us on the small old fashioned train there and back to give the story a little flow instead of just jumping in at the pier as you can see in the test video i have uploaded below.
Another Problem that we encountered on our shoot was that there was no Tripods left in school that fit our camera so we decided to improvise again as you can see we wrapped the camera with duck tape which I think worked quite well.
Here Is a small Clip of the train journey to the pier which we will be including in the feature music video we gave it a vintage look to it by using an app on my phone iPhone which turned the footage into "Super 8 Camera" looking footage:
For our Second Shoot of the day we needed to look older so me and Georgie dressed in "teenage" looking clothing e.g. skinny jeans, Leggins, Tee's and Hoodies to make us look like 16-17 year olds. We also came up with a good idea to show our transfer from school kid to teenagers like the "john Lewis advert" does instead of going behind a bush we jumped on the train at the pier and at the station we jumped off in our teenager costumes to signify the change. We then moved onto the beach were we shot scenes of me and Georgie sitting side beside on the sand and we also came up with an idea to write in the sand which i think will be effective when we edit it all together. Today has been a good day of shooting and we have accomplished a lot of the scenes we needed to the only draw back from the day i think was the failure of the arcade scene as both adventure island was closed for winter and the arcades that were open would not allow us to film in them but we will get round this some how.

Production Diary (Dark Room Shoot)
Session 21 - 28/11/2011
Today we shot the first 18 seconds of our music video, creating our own dark room using one of the spare rooms in school at first we didn't think it was going to work very well but in the end we all agreed that it worked well when we got all the props up and everything had been positioned in the right place. It took us a good half hour to set up which we will have to considering when doing other shoots in future but all in all i think we did really well today and we have captured lots of useful footage that we will be using in the shoot here are a couple of photos of today on set. Ellie is the actress in the scene with both me and Georgie filming as we will be featured in the rest of the video. we also used interesting camera angles in the scene as you can see from the photos below i was able to create Ariel shots making giving it real room like effect and george was also able to use 180 degrees rotation in one shot to show the different photos pegged up on the pieces of string.
Here is a picture of the props we used on set (as you can see we used: old photo films and photographs, clock, old retro polaroid camera, pegs, string, make shift photo frames, books, keys, a phone and also two tray and a rucksack) we wanted to make it look as authentic as we could so we messed it up a lot to make it look a bit more real which i think we achieved quite well:

In today's Lesson Ellie was ill, me and georgie decided to produce an rough idea of our shoots and what exactly would happen on each shoot we do so we do not experience the same problems we did in London last time we was shooting. Mr.Anstee also helped us come up with ideas to signify the changes in ages like the john lewis advert shown below Georgie and I are going to wear items of clothing that are going to be the same throught the different shoots Georgie's will be the scarf and mine will be my casio watch both are quite obvvious featurs which will hopefully stand out to the audience. We also came up with the idea like the Rihanna Video "we found love" we want to project the video onto the wall so when It cuts to me sing it will look like i am reminsicing about the whole story.

Session 19 23/11/2011
Today Miss Brookes got us into groups and we discussed the problems that we could find when filming and how we would be able to deal with these problems. Then Me, Ellie and George created a spider diagram with what we think we need to bring to our filming to ensure that it is to a high standard. We also completed self assessments on each other giving positive and negatives points on each others contributions to the project which we all found were very helpful and can now aim to improve upon.

Session 18 22/11/2011
Today we captured our footage and saved it. We also looked at the video 'We found love' by Rihanna,
What we liked about this video was the fast-pace of all the different shots. Even though our song isn't fast paced, we are now considering having contrapuntal shots, with some parts fast paced, contrasting to the song.
The video, 'Breathe me' by Sia does this, as it is entirely fast-paced even though the song has a slow pace.
When we next film in Clacton, I think we are going to try to capture lots of different shots that can be edited to make some of the shots fast paced to see if we like this effect or not.

Session 17 18/11/2011
Today we went on a media trip to Rich Mix, a multi-media centre, where we had a music video conference. It gave us all an interesting insight into the industry, and we also had the chance to meet Corin Hardy, who is a working music video director. We were all very surprised with all the different videos he had been involved in directing e.g. warrior dance - the prodigy, the horrors - she's is the new thing and even Olly Murs. I think everyone found this really interesting, especially when we pitched our concepts to him about our ideas for the plot of a video we'd just heard the song to. We also met Peter Fisher the head of our exam board who gave us a good idea what to include in our own music video to ensure that we get a top grade and where music videos have come from which i thought was very interesting. We was also introduced to Liz Kessler who was a music video producer for academy films who has commissioned music videos from the likes of Britney spears to home grown talent Wiley.
Then afterwards, we filmed for the first time. We went to Covent Garden’s to film shots of the couple when they are older and I think we got a good minute worth of footage. Most of the shots are of John and Georgie walking hand in hand and just generally walking around.
What we have learnt:
From filming for the first time, we have learnt the difficulties of filming in a public space because people could interrupt shots and get in the way, which was extremely frustrating.
What we'll do differently next time:
Next time, we will be more planned for the day and have everything we need with us on the day i.e storyboards. I think our next day of shooting, our footage will be more useable, and we have better results.

Today, we finished our lip syncing, and uploaded it to YouTube. John started to create a presentation on our genre, which I then finished. I think now, we have a strong idea about our audience, conventions of our genre and how we want our video to turn out like.

As Georgie wasn't in me and Ellie carried on working on the risk assessment for our music video production will also drew up final plans for production timetable so that we known exactly what day we are filming what scene and where. We also started to put together a slip lip sync for the song to put on the youtube Channel.

Also later on this day i decided to create a preview clip of Aaron Brookes song Polaroids as i thought the youtube page looked rather dull without any videos, so i made a sneak peak of his single like most artist do before its big release of new material they usually have a sampler of a album or single to encourage the audience to buy there CD when it's released so this is what i wanted to do with creating the video here is the video below, i added images to the song to set the mood for the music video.

Today I wasn't in so i decided to do a few things at home to help out my group i first designed a youtube page for our artist Aaron Brookes which we will be using to upload videos of our final piece to, I wanted to keep in the theme of his single Polaroids so I thought that I'd try to go for the same effect in the youtube layout using a collage of old polaroids for the background and for the foreground i used a off brown used in old photo films to give it a vintage looking effect, I also did a little write up about the artist and what music he likes etc and got people to comment on the page to make it feel more real. here are two print screens of the web page and here is the link to the site ( www.youtube.com/aaronbrookesoffical ):

Today Mr.Anstee got us into different groups joined with the other class to discuss how well we thought our planning and research was going and what grade we think we would achieve from what we had done and what we need to do to get the level 4 grade. We bounced ideas off eachother and came up with a few ideas that will help us to gain a high level 4 grade for Research and Planning. We were also shown two A grade music videos which was shown to us to get an idea what we need to do when were filimg our on music video for example remembering our tripod and trying to create panaromic shots and steady the camera as much as we can so it does not look unprofessional and the percise editing of each scene in the videos. The music videos also had many special effects in them which we also need to consider for ours we wanted to put together a film like the music video of Lana Del Rey - Video Games combining vintage footage and our own but in the same super 8 effect, we also wanted to learn how defocus the camera.

In todays lesson Ellie was ill so me and georgia finshed of talking over the storyboard and started to edit it into the video of the storyboard on the computer, we also addded in the music in the background so you could get a feel from the song and our expinlation to make sense of it all.

Today Ellie finished drawing out or final couple of storyboards, Georgina then took a 2 second clip of each frame of the storyboard and then uploaded it onto the computer we then started to piece together the storyboard to fit along to our track that we uploaded onto it as well, we did this so that we could get a better idea of what the final product would look like compared to our storyboard adaptation of it and also to help us along in the process of filming the real thing. While this was happening I started to enhance the twitter pages for our artist and we also started work on our internet site for him.

Today we created a Twitter account and Myspace for our Artist Aaron Brookes, as most artist these days have them we have already got 30 followers on twitter and we are also developing an internet site which will have links to tours and merchandise and contact details for Aaron. In todays lesson we re-capped our annotated lyrics, and then began to draw our storyboard. We haven't finished yet, but it has given us a strong, clear idea of the first half of our song's concept. Whilst creating it, we encountered things that may be a problem when filming our video, such as the weather or being able to use people who are middle aged. So we had to consider what is realistic to achieve, which we will continue to do with drawing out the rest of our storyboard.

22/09/11 – session 5
Today was the day we had to finally choose a song for our music video. We decided that all our original song choices weren’t the right choice as we weren’t really drawn to any of them. As well, we couldn’t all agree on one choice and make a final decision. Therefore we decided to go back to the drawing board and started researching for other song choice ideas. After much though and scouting, we eventually found a song. It is ‘pictures of people taking pictures’ by Jack Johnson. We decided to go with this song as we had lots of ideas we could do with song and was all in favour of this choice.

Session 4
Today we showed the other group all of our song choices. So far we’ve found it difficult to decide as a group what song would be best, so by the end we should have a final song choice based on what the other group has said.
